God’s Supreme Power
This is the headline in my bible to Isaiah 45:8-25. The first four verses are kind of convicting to me. It talks about how God created the earth to begin with. The very first verse is full of imagery, I can just imagine the heavens dripping down as if it was a droplet of water. And the clouds being pored out upon the earth. God created it, and it was righteous. Yes, that is completely beautiful in itself. But what really got me was the next three verses. The chapter goes on to question and in a way point out those who question and fight God’s authority. I feel like each one of us do that on a daily basis. He is our Maker, yet we question the very existence and being of Him with our day to day actions. We live in a way that does not always reveal who our Maker is. “Will the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you doing?’ Or the thing you are making say, ‘He has no hands’?” (Isaiah 45:9) This verse rocked my world. I, on a very regular basis, question what God is doing in my life. I wonder and try to find out what God has for me right now. I live in the future rather in the present where God has me. “Today I can stand and say that where I am is where You have placed me to be. So why should I even give the slightest thought of where I’d rather be.” I wrote those words a few months ago during a transition period in my life. It is such a true statement that we as Christians should live by. God is a sovereign God, and whatever is happening in our life right now, is because God has allowed it to happen. God, forgive me for doubting your power and your direction in my life. Allow and help me to trust and simply walk by faith. Knowing that you will lead me and guide me as your word promises. Amen.
